INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY OF ADDICTION JOURNAL EDITORS (ISAJE)

ISAJE's database of researchers is now available

The International Society of Addiction Editors (ISAJE) is pleased to announce that its database of researchers is now available for you to use.

The database is a unique resource and only available to ISAJE member editors and their staff. The database contains details of researchers from low and middle income countries who have attested scholarly competence and who you may wish to consider for reviewing papers submitted for publication to your journal, write book reviews or serve as members of your journal's editorial board.

The database is easy for you to use. You can access the database on the www.parint.org website using your editor's password. On the database you'll find contact details for the reviewers and an outline of their areas of research interest. We hope this will give you the information you need to judge whether they are the right researcher for you to contact to help your journal. Then it is for you to contact the researcher and arrange the assignment.

There are now nearly 50 reviewers on the parint database. These reviewers will be able to contribute unique perspectives and expertise to your journal and enrich its coverage and inform its mission. Over the coming year we expect to increase the number of researchers on the database and extend its geographical and research coverage so there'll be more expertise for you to tap into.

We'd welcome any comments you may have if you use the database, they will help us improve and enlarge our reviewer database.

ISAJE was "established to promote excellence in the communication and dissemination of information on addiction and related sciences within the scientific community and to those who have responsibility for the prevention, treatment, cure, professional training and policy formation in this field." The society encourages and supports increased participation of professionals from developing countries in research and publication on addiction science.

Please contact John Witton, Parint Website Manager, National Addiction Centre PO48, 4 Windsor Walk, London SE5 8AF, United Kingdom, john.witton@iop.kcl.ac.uk, if you have any queries.
